Massive LEGO NINJAGO summer 2024 set rumoured to be city

A massive LEGO NINJAGO city model is rumoured for summer 2024, but it might not be part of the modular NINJAGO City collection.

Instagram user 1414falconfan reports that the previously rumoured $249.99 summer 2024 LEGO NINJAGO set could be a city, but potentially not part of NINJAGO city.

The rumour states that 71814 will be named Tournament Temple City with 3,489 pieces for $249.99. Given that the rumoured name doesn’t include NINJAGO City, it seems that it won’t be part of the collection of modular models of the same name, which have all included that in the name.

This reported name aligns with those of other rumoured sets, including 30675 Tournament Training Grounds for $4.99 and 71818 Tournament Arena Battle for $49.99. It suggests that a tournament could be playing a huge role in the next chapter of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising. Alternatively, it may be a callback to the Tournament of Elements season, which featured a huge compound on an island that would be befitting of a set with this piece count (and could be excused as a small city).

That piece count is between 80054 Megapolis City 5th Anniversary at 2,330 parts and 70657 NINJAGO City Docks at 3,553 elements. Nothing more about the set is rumoured at the time of writing, but the lack of NINJAGO City in the name may mean that this isn’t a new addition to the modular range.

Take all rumoured information with caution until officially confirmed otherwise but here’s what’s rumoured and confirmed to be coming to LEGO NINJAGO later this year.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
