New LEGO NINJAGO and gorilla 2024 polybags listed online
Listings for two new LEGO polybags arriving in 2024 have surfaced online, one of which points to a new animal mould in this summer’s rumoured LEGO City sets.
Word at the moment is that this summer’s LEGO City range will see the return of the Jungle subtheme (which is also rumoured to appear across LEGO Friends), and with it multiple new animal moulds. 2017’s City Jungle sets introduced a new cat mould that has since served as the template for a tiger, panther, leopard and lion, but the animal kingdom is still ripe with potential for new elements.
One of those now looks likely to be a baby gorilla, as French retailer Club Jouet has published a new listing for 30665 Meet the Baby Gorilla. Presumably a new polybag given its product number and price (roughly $4.99 in the US), this tiny promotional set seems sure to include… a baby gorilla. (No prizes for guessing that one.) The question now is whether this will be a City or Creator polybag.
If it’s the latter, we can expect the animal to be built from standard bricks. But if it’s the former, we’re likely looking at a brand new moulded element for the baby gorilla. And given rumours of Jungle’s return are already swirling, that would make sense – and also tie in with LEGO City’s recent strategy of giving us baby versions of animals alongside their adult counterparts (see turtles, seals and so on).
That hopefully means we’ll also see a new LEGO gorilla piece in this summer’s City sets, but as we don’t even have outright confirmation that Jungle will return at all, best to file that theory under ‘educated guesswork’ for the time being.
Club Jouet has also published a listing for a new LEGO NINJAGO 2024 polybag, meanwhile, in 30675 Tournament Training Grounds. Again due to be available for $4.99, the contents of this particular set are a little trickier to predict, but the name suggests it’ll be a perfect companion to this summer’s rumoured 71818 Tournament Arena Battle.

Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
