Misspelling spotted in first LEGO Star Trek set

Another misspelling has been spotted in an 18+ model, this time affecting the first LEGO Star Trek set and one of the franchise’s most iconic quotes.

After similar errors in LEGO Ideas and Harry Potter models, the LEGO Group’s history of misspelt words and errors in stickers has cropped up once more, now spotted in early reviews of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D. Though the ship build is without any major interior sections, there is a hollow space for the Enterprise’s dedication plaque, represented with a sticker on a tile that can be hidden away in the folds of the vessel when the model is all assembled.

As much as this sticker will be hidden when the build is complete, it’s still worth noting that it inaccurately has the famous phrase, “to boldly go where no one has gone before.”, written as “to boldy go where no one has gone before.”

The error here is that ‘boldly’ has been written as ‘boldy’. Unless this is referring to Picard’s lack of hair (probably not, as that would be written as ‘baldy’) in some odd way, it’s an unfortunate mistake in one of the upcoming set’s stickers, incorrectly referencing one of the franchise’s most iconic quotes.

Such errors are rare in LEGO sets, and previous mistakes have seen the LEGO Group swiftly responding with an amended sticker or print that customers can have sent to them, and fixing future copies of the model.

Given that we’re only a few weeks away from the release of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, it’s likely too late to amend the early batch copies of the Star Trek set. We’ll update you should the LEGO Group announce a solution, but for now, at least this sticker isn’t immediately visible when the build is on display.

LEGO Icons 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D will be available to buy from November 28, 2025, retailing at £349.99 in the UK, $399.99 in the US, and from €379.99 in Europe.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

The quote is Picard’s not Kirk’s. Kirk’s is “where no man has gone before”. Not to be that guy but at first that’s what I thought the typo was going to be

Whilst ‘no one’ is more Next Generation than Original Series, Kirk did, in his ‘last’ Captain’s Log at the end of ‘Undiscovered Country’ say “boldly going where no man… where no one, has gone before”, so it’s both.
