There’s a modern LEGO mansion for everyone now

The latest LEGO Ideas set will be joining a limited but recent collection of sets that will soon offer something for absolutely everyone’s tastes.

LEGO Ideas 21354 Twilight The Cullen House and 21353 The Botanical Garden have more in common than you might think, both joining the theme while extremely similar models are available, but offering their own take on specific concepts.

For 21354 Twilight The Cullen House, the licensed model will soon sit alongside 31153 Modern House and 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion as part of the current line of modern LEGO mansions available for purchase. The LEGO Creator and Friends sets are available now but the Twilight build won’t be released until February 1 with pre-orders open right now.

Comparing the three mansions, there are a lot of differences when looking closely, especially in their colour schemes but the general architecture between them is undeniably similar. 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion is by far the most colourful fitting LEGO Friends design and by contrast 21354 Twilight The Cullen House has a for more gothic colour scheme. 31153 Modern House sits in the middle of the two with a decidedly neutral appearance.

The locations of each of the mansions are different too with a forest, beach and hillside between them. The interiors of each build don’t demonstrate quite as many differences as you’d expect with modern furnishing throughout but 21354 Twilight The Cullen House is the only one without a pool.

The new LEGO Ideas set benefits from being fully enclosed at the back while 31153 Modern House and 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion embrace a dollhouse-adjacent layout. This combined with the colour scheme and building techniques, including the roof, demonstrate that the newest LEGO mansion is targeting a much different audience than the last two sets.

All three of the current modern LEGO mansions appear to serve a different demographic of the LEGO community. The LEGO Ideas Twilight set is best for older enthusiasts seeking a more realistic model, 31153 Modern House is good for younger fans who prefer minifigures while 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion is best for mini-doll fans.
