More details on rumoured LEGO Star Wars 75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor

More rumoured details have surfaced on LEGO Star Wars 75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor, a Clone Wars set reportedly arriving in January 2025.

Initial word on the latest Eta-2 Interceptor dropped all the way back in July, but details beyond the set’s number and name were scant. Instagram user palnetttt (re-reported and backed up by a more reliable source on reddit) has now shared more details on the minifigures we can expect to see in 75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor if and when it shows up on shelves at the beginning of next year.

No prizes for guessing that Ahsoka Tano will be in the mix, but palnetttt specifically states that the Jedi Padawan will use the mid-sized legs introduced by the Wizarding World theme in 2018, denoting her shorter stature in the animated Clone Wars series. Ahsoka only flew an Interceptor in the later seasons of the show, so we’ll probably get a redux of the costume previously seen in 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship.

She’ll apparently be accompanied by R7-A7, a dark red, white and lime green astromech droid that last appeared in 2009’s 7751 Ahsoka’s Starfighter and Vulture Droid and is now worth £25+ on BrickLink. While the new minifigure isn’t expected to be identical to its predecessor (but rather updated), it should be a suitable alternative for astromech collectors who missed out on the original.

The third and final minifigure in 75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor is thought to be a new Anakin Skywalker inspired by his Clone Wars appearance. What exactly that means at this stage is less clear: the Jedi’s outfit in the later seasons of the show is relatively close to his Revenge of the Sith costume, so it’ll be interesting to see how the LEGO Star Wars team distinguishes it from previous Episode III minifigures (if at all).

75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor is currently believed to retail for $44.99 in the US for only 290 pieces, a price-per-piece ratio that’s verging on astronomical. But as Brick Fanatics predicted back when rumours of this set first landed online, it will apparently include a brand new cockpit piece (perhaps explaining that budget increase to a degree), moving away from the 10x6x3 bubble windscreen used for every Jedi Interceptor since 2005.

That may allow the LEGO Group to come up with a more compact take on these one-man starfighters than in previous sets, which have skewed proportions to suit their minifigure pilots. It’s still unlikely that it’ll leave room in the meagre piece count for a secondary vehicle, though…

Take these details with a customary pinch of salt for now. You can check out the full list of rumoured LEGO Star Wars sets for 2025 – which also now includes a UCS Jango Fett’s Slave I – in the table below.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
