More rumoured details on LEGO Ideas Disney 100th anniversary set

More rumoured details have emerged on the upcoming LEGO Ideas Disney 100th anniversary set, which is said to be arriving later this year.

Previously reported to be launching in October, the model is based on 2A2A’s winning entry in LEGO Ideas’ 2023 contest to find a fan-designed LEGO Disney 100th anniversary set. And while the submission was originally titled ‘Disney Magic’, Instagram user itavixbrix now reports (via Brick Clicker) that the final set will be titled 21352 Disney 100 Celebration – a name that hews closely to a couple of previous sets.

Those are the gift-with-purchase 40600 Disney 100 Years Celebration and the BrickHeadz four-pack 40622 Disney 100th Celebration, both of which debuted in 2023 (the actual 100th anniversary of the House of Mouse). 21352 Disney 100 Celebration is still rumoured to be launching on October 1, 2024, which means it would arrive in time for Disney’s 101st birthday year.

The model is also still expected to include 1,103 pieces, and is now rumoured to retail for $99.99 in the US – placing it at the more affordable end of the LEGO Ideas spectrum. The only question mark that’s still hanging over the set is whether the LEGO Group will go as far as including all of 2A2A’s proposed minifigures.

Those characters undoubtedly drove plenty of LEGO Ideas fans to vote for Disney Magic above the other finalists in the original contest, so it would be disappointing to see any of them left out. But there were quite a few on the cards, including the first-ever Belle minifigure, so their presence in the finished set should definitely not be taken for granted at this stage.

We’ll hopefully learn more about 21352 Disney 100 Celebration over the next few weeks and months. For now, the only guarantee is that it’s arriving at some point – everything else should be taken with a grain of salt. Check out the full LEGO Ideas 2024 slate as things stand below.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
