More details on three new rumoured LEGO Spider-Man 2022 sets

More details have surfaced on the three new LEGO Spider-Man sets rumoured to be launching later this year, including potential prices and piece counts.

Word of another trio of Spidey sets swung in late last week, with early reports claiming they’ll consist of three new buildable figures from the Marvel universe. But whether those models would follow the template established by 76206 Iron Man Figure earlier this year – or perhaps the constraction figures released a decade ago – was less clear.

Now, Instagram user greekbricks reports (via azanibricknews) that the three characters will indeed resemble the brick-built Iron Man, only with reduced part counts and cheaper price tags. 76206 Iron Man Figure retails for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 and includes 381 pieces, but the three new Spider-Man buildable figures will apparently come in as follows:

76225 Venom Figure – 238 pieces, $19.99 / €19.99
76226 Spider-Man Figure – 258 pieces, $24.99 / €24.99
76230 Miles Morales Figure – 298 pieces, $19.99 / €19.99

There’s an obvious discrepancy in piece counts and prices between Spider-Man and Miles Morales, with the latter including more bricks for less money, so these prices could yet shift around. And that’s if these reported sets are accurate at all – remember, nothing is confirmed until officially revealed by the LEGO Group, but the three sets are said to be launching in September, so we’ll hopefully find out one way or the other soon.

If they do pan out as expected, it seems likely that these buildable figures could be slightly smaller than 76206 Iron Man Figure, or simply take a different approach to their design. And given they’re much more organic characters than Tony Stark’s suit, that wouldn’t be totally uncalled for.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
