Two more LEGO Disney 100th anniversary sets rumoured for summer 2023

Two more LEGO Disney 100th anniversary sets are now rumoured to be on the way in summer 2023, including one that sounds like a mash-up with LEGO Art.

We already know the LEGO Group is going big on Disney for the House of Mouse’s centennial birthday, starting with 40622 Disney 100th Celebration (which is available now). More sets to come include three BrickHeadz double-packs, a 4+ Disney train and a model inspired by Pixar’s Up – and according to fresh rumours, a set with roots in the LEGO Art theme.

Instagram user lego_insider_news reports (via brick_clicker) that 43215 Adventure Park and 43221 Painting with Mickey will both launch on June 1, and while neither is necessarily labelled as a 100th anniversary set at the moment, both have the vibes of ‘celebrating 100 years of Disney’. 43215 Adventure Park, for instance, is said to include at least 12 mini-dolls, among which are characters from Encanto.

It sounds like there’s a non-zero chance the set could form some kind of tribute to Disney’s theme parks, encompassing characters from multiple different franchises – in the same way 43212 Disney Celebration Train includes minifigures from Toy Story, Peter Pan and Moana. That’s only speculation based on the number of mini-dolls and the set name, but… prove us wrong, LEGO Group.

43221 Painting with Mickey, meanwhile, will apparently offer the opportunity to build portraits of different Disney and Pixar characters across separable sections. Whether that means you’ll be able to create multiple portraits at once is less certain, but the set definitely seems to be in a similar wheelhouse to the LEGO Art range – whether as a mosaic or a more expressive relief build, a la 31206 The Rolling Stones or 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave.

Of course, there’s always a chance it could be closer to the concept of Brick Sketches than LEGO Art, but time will tell. For now, 43221 Painting with Mickey is said to also include a new Mickey Mouse artist minifigure, which will further distinguish the LEGO Disney set from the wider LEGO Art range (famously free of minifigures).

Check out the rumoured prices and piece counts for both sets in the table below, which also includes a snapshot of the rest of the LEGO Disney 100th anniversary line-up as it stands. Remember that these are strictly rumours for now unless otherwise confirmed, so take them with a pinch of salt for the time being.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
