More LEGO Disney 100th anniversary sets rumoured for 2023
The LEGO Group’s celebrations of Disney’s 100th anniversary are now also rumoured to include new sets based on Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
Characters from both of those films are already confirmed to appear in BrickHeadz sets launching in February and March, but Instagram user exabrickslegogo_ now reports that regular LEGO sets based on both properties will launch in 2023. The first of those will apparently recreate Snow White’s cottage, which may cause consternation for LEGO Ideas builder Harry Finkel, whose own take on the same subject was rejected in early 2022.
With very few other details to go on, there’s every chance that an official LEGO Snow White’s cottage could take its cues from 2017’s 10738 Snow White’s Forest Cottage, offering a build designed for younger audiences (and anchored around mini-dolls). That would potentially give it enough distance from Finkel’s detailed minifigure-based build to avoid invoking any ire.

The second rumoured Disney 100th anniversary set is said to consist of Sleeping Beauty baddie Maleficent, who we’ve already seen in LEGO as both a minifigure and mini-doll – and, come March, a BrickHeadz statuette. According to exabrickslegogo_, this set will see her built as a dragon, reflecting the form she takes to battle Prince Phillip in the film’s climax.
Again, there’s no word yet on whether that set will include minifigures or mini-dolls (if it includes any characters at all – who’s to say it couldn’t be an 18+ display model?). And neither of these rumoured sets have a product number – let alone a price or piece count – so take news of both of them with a huge grain of salt for now.
In the meantime, you’ll find Snow White in 40622 Disney 100th Celebration, available February 1, while Maleficent appears (in human form) in 40620 Cruella & Maleficent, due out March 1.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
