Four more doors for LEGO Marvel 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar

With the trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, we’ve got more ideas for more items in the 2022 LEGO Marvel advent calendar.

LEGO Marvel 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar was released long before the first look at the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special that it is based on. This allowed us to take a peek at the special before seeing any footage from it, with it seemingly being inspired by both the special and team’s adventures in the MCU.  This article does feature some spoilers for the contents of the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO advent calendar, but no images of any models or minifigures that are included.

However, now that a trailer is available, we’ve found four items and characters missing from 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy advent calendar. It’s a bit too late to add these items now that the set is on shelves, but it should be interesting to ponder on what they could have looked like in LEGO

4 – Kraglin

At the time of writing, Kraglin has only appeared as a digital minifigure in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 but with the character confirmed to appear in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar could have been a chance to introduce one physically.

Kraglin is now equipped with Yondu’s fin, which was featured as a special LEGO element in 2017, so it may no longer be in production. With him being a member of the team in recent projects, A Kraglin minifigure may be possible in the future as long as the third Guardians of the Galaxy film receives LEGO sets as it is rumoured to be

3 – Cosmo

Cosmo has had a much more diminished role in the Guardians of the Galaxy’s adventures than in the comics and other media though she is returning in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, named alongside other major characters, suggesting a bigger role.

The LEGO Group has a dog brick in Cosmo’s colour currently in circulation thanks to 60292 Town Centre but another option for depicting Cosmo in bricks could be a model to better integrate the space suit.

2 – The folding ship

Within the trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, a ship with folding wings and engines can be seen flying towards one of the hexagonal jump points.

None of the ship builds in 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar quite match this build, unless the minifigure-scale vehicle is intended to be a depiction of it, and it could have been a good and accurate inclusion to the line-up.

1 – Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon is now canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an acclaimed actor and the perfect gift for Peter Quill, at least according to Drax and Mantis.

It may be wishful thinking, but a Kevin Bacon minifigure could have been a great addition to 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar, though it’s not often that celebrities not portraying characters get LEGO minifigures
