The five most expensive LEGO Spider-Man minifigures

Spider-Man isn’t the LEGO Group’s most-produced superhero minifigure (that honour goes to Batman), but he does have some of the most rare and expensive variants.

If you’re looking to complete your LEGO Spider-Man minifigure collection, it’s going to be a lot pricier than you may have originally thought. The upcoming release of 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle in August, which introduces new versions of two very rare Spider-Man minifigures, will certainly make things easier – but your wallet is still going to be a lot lighter after snagging some of the highly expensive minifigures on this list.

Several convention-exclusive minifigures as well as a line of LEGO sets from the early 2000s have made a few variations of Spider-Man into big ticket items on places like eBay and BrickLink. Fortunately, regular versions of the character that have appeared in a number of sets make garden-variety Spider-Men very cheap. But here, we’re talking about the super-specific, ultra-rare versions, that are all pricey for their own reasons.

5. Action Studio Spider-Man ~ $116

This minifigure only came in a LEGO Studios set depicting the making of the original Spider-Man movie in 2002. (Which looks to be directed by Steven Spielberg instead of Sam Raimi in this set, for some reason.) The minifigure itself is mostly identical to the other Spider-Man minifigures in the Raimi movie sets, with one key difference that sets it apart – it comes with a red neck bracket piece. The simple inclusion of that one element skyrockets the price of this Spidey.

4. Wrestler Outfit Spider-Man ~ $140

Included in only one set from 2003, this Spider-Man minifigure depicts the wall-crawler in his wrestler costume from the first Spider-Man movie. The highly unique nature of this costume is surely part of the reason for the high asking price these days, as well as its appearance in only one set.

3. Symbiote Suit Spider-Man ~ $690

Surprise, surprise… from here forward, the rest of the minifigures are convention exclusives. This Spider-Man, in his iconic black symbiote costume, was distributed at San Diego Comic Con in 2012. Despite the torso and legs being re-used from the many Venom minifigures, the exclusive head print alone makes the minifigure more expensive than most of even the biggest LEGO sets.

2. PS4 Spider-Man ~ $1,500

This Spidey, based on his appearance in the 2018 Playstation 4 game Marvel’s Spider-Man, was only available at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con. He’s actually never been sold on BrickLink, so it’s difficult to find an accurate value for the figure – but some of the cheapest listings online are still over 1,500 US dollars.

1. Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Man ~ $15,000

No, your eyes don’t deceive you. This minifigure’s value is listed at around 15,000 US dollars. Again, there aren’t too many actual sales of this minifigure online to take data from, but there’s no doubt that this is the most expensive LEGO Spider-Man ever. Based on Spidey’s look in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, this minifigure was, once again, a San Diego Comic Con exclusive. Fortunately for fans of this costume, 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle contains a new version of this same costume for a much more reasonable price.
