It just got easier to get hold of super rare LEGO Spider-Man minifigure

A minifigure known to sell for up to $15,000 on the secondhand market just got a lot easier to find, thanks to LEGO Marvel.

Events like San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) often result in exclusive minifigures being given away as gifts for in-person attendees. While this is fun for those who can attend, it means that trying to collect minifigure variations of one character can get very expensive. Luckily, one rare LEGO Spider-Man figure just got a lot easier to find.

Prior to the reveal of LEGO Marvel 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle, a minifigure based on Andrew Garfield’s version of the web-slinging hero in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was exclusive to SDCC 2013. Now, a very similar minifigure, complete with Amazing Spider-Man’s larger, more expressive eyes, is included in 76261, which can be yours for just £94.99 for the entire set – quite the saving when the SDCC minifigure is currently listed on Bricklink for a whopping £16,948.13, at the time of writing.

Of course, there are some differences between the two. The SDCC version has unique printing on its legs, creating diamond shapes on the upper half, while the newer update has what looks like the same dual-printed legs as the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man in the same set. The spider logo printing on the torso also looks to be slightly different, with thinner lines depicting the fine-line arachnid.

However, you do still get a minifigure based on Garfield’s Spider-Man, an iteration of the character that’s otherwise never had any specific tie-in sets, as well as two other Spideys and a slew of villains and friends to populate the iconic battle scene from the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. You’ll be able to add the Amazing Spider-Man to your LEGO Marvel collection from August 1, along with a wave of other sets from the theme.
