Here are the official names for every LEGO character in 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine
The LEGO Group has published official names for every LEGO minifigure included in 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine, revealing a handful of specific callbacks to classic characters.
The 16 minifigures in June’s 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine will be reason alone to take the plunge on this set for many fans, but while you wait to get your hands on it for yourself, the LEGO Group has shared close-up images of the entire spread of characters – along with their official names. Some of these are generic monikers while others refer to specific characters from retro LEGO themes.
Check out all 16 (in their respective pairs) below. 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine launches June 1 for LEGO Insiders for £149.99 / $179.99 / €169.99.
Teal Coffee Break Classic Space and Teal Fix-It Classic Space

The new hues of Classic Space astronauts are unfortunately not called ‘Bob’, ‘Mary’ or anything so gloriously mundane, but have instead been assigned names that refer to their roles in the cosmos (and the accessories they’re holding). One half of the teal pair is on mechanical duties, while the other is taking a coffee break, complete with mug and doughnut.
Gold Comms Classic Space and Gold Blaster Classic Space

No points for creativity on these ones really, but hey, every other Classic Space astronaut* is anonymous, so why not this glitzy pair too? Differentiated entirely by their walkie-talkie or blaster, these two brand new pearl gold Classic Space astronauts will undoubtedly fetch a pretty penny on the aftermarket… at least until they show up on Pick a Brick. No guarantees, but we’re trying our best to manifest it.
*Benny, Jenny, Kenny, Lenny et al notwithstanding.
Male Kraken Warrior and Female Kraken Warrior

We’ll get to some specific character names soon, promise – but for now, here are the generic male and female Kraken Warriors, one of two new LEGO Castle factions joining the fray in 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine. Rocking brown helmets originally designed for Vikings combined with green face masks, these fearsome warriors are easily among the most detailed medieval minifigures to date.
Bernard Bear Minifigure and Elton Elephant Minifigure

Here we go: two callbacks to specific Fabuland characters in Bernard Bear and Elton Elephant. They’re stylised as regular minifigures in costume (maybe they’re attending a Fabuland convention?) rather than the anthropomorphised animals of the original theme, but it’s still neat to see the LEGO Group pick out two named characters for them. The Fabuland logo torsos are the cherry on top.
Paradisa Beach Bae and Paradisa Beach Bro

These names and character descriptions feel a little bit like that Steve Buscemi ‘How do you do, fellow kids?’ meme come to life, but we can overlook that for the retro vibes flowing through these Paradisa minifigures. Plus, they are technically riffing on original Paradisa characters in design – it’s just that those minifigures didn’t have specific names either. Paradisa lore was not top priority in 1992.
Male Griffin Knight and Female Griffin Knight

The second new Castle faction arriving in 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine is the Griffin Knights, and again we get male and female versions here (which the design team says was inspired by the positive reaction to 71047 Dungeons & Dragons’ reversible heads). These have way more classic vibes than the Kraken Warriors, save for the unique shield shape borrowed from Link in 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1.
Pirates Bo’sun Will and Pirates Camilla

The most direct update of classic LEGO characters comes in Camilla and Bo’sun Will, both brought back from the original LEGO Pirates line in 1989. Bo’sun Will appeared in six Pirates sets from the original ‘80s and ‘90s run, plus one Black Seas Barracuda remake, while this is actually Camilla’s first physical appearance as a minifigure: she previously featured in comics, audio dramas and video games.
Original Pirates lore places her as the niece of Governor Broadside who has a crush on Captain Redbeard’s boatswain, none other than Bo’sun Will, but here she’s billed as the Admiral’s Daughter, a minifigure that first appeared in 2009’s 6243 Brickbeard’s Bounty and was subsequently named Miranda Valentina. But then a variation of that minifigure was used for Camilla in LEGO Battles… LEGO lore is messy.
Rob the Fan Designer and LEGO Ideas Designer

Rounding out the line-up are two meta minifigures, representing the fan designer responsible for bringing the concept of a minifigure prize machine to LEGO Ideas – Rob Vangansewinkel – and a generic LEGO Ideas designer. We initially wondered if this was a specific LEGO employee who worked on the set, but it doesn’t look much like Chris McVeigh, Dang Hoàng or Nathan Davis (21358’s model designers and graphic designer).
