New electric parts to surface with LEGO Education update
New listings on the LEGO instructions database might offer hope for anyone wanting to pick up the LEGO Education Science parts without a school.
Earlier this week, the LEGO Education team announced a new trio of science kits as part of the latest initiative to inspire students to learn creatively. It’s great news for teachers and students alike, but for the rest of the community, these items are never widely available understandably.
The following kits were revealed in the press release with some exciting contents teased too, but this time there’s a glimmer of hope for the new electronic elements being released outside of LEGO Education.
| LEGO Education Science kit | Contents |
|---|---|
| K-2 ($329) | 277 pieces 1 double motor USB charging cable Building instructions |
| 3-5 ($399) | 335 pieces 1 double motor 1 controller 2 connection cards USB charging cable Building instructions |
| 6-8 ($499) | 424 pieces 1 single motor 1 double motor 1 controller 1 color sensor 3 connection cards USB charging cable Building instructions |
The described contents of these kits – as well as the kits themselves – have now appeared on the online instructions page, offering hope for anyone who was hoping to pick them up separately for other purposes.
The online instructions database now lists 45651 Double Motor, 45652 Controller, 45653 Colour Sensor, 45624 Multi-charger, 45656 AC Cable, 45650 Single Motor and 45623 Multi-charger as individual products. Such listings are usually reserved for anything publicly available at some point in time, including official sets, model bundles, polybags and more.
While these items are confirmed to be available as part of the LEGO Education Science bundles, this might be a sign that the LEGO Group has plans to release them separately too, possibly for purchase as most other items in the instructions database are.
That’s not confirmed, but there are few other reasons for the items to be listed individually if they weren’t going to be available separately somehow. That said, this might just be an option for schools to pick up additional parts to enhance the kits. Given how in-depth the student-designed models can get with the assigned equipment, the described parts would be able to greatly enhance creations throughout the community. Keep a pinch of salt handy alongside your hope for now just in case.
LEGO Education Science will begin shipping in August 2025 and you can find out more about the initiative by clicking here.

why charge schools so much for them.
