New LEGO Minecraft summer 2021 set reveal

Another LEGO Minecraft set is on the way this summer, with the first images of 21173 The Sky Tower – and its glorious teal roof – revealed by a Dutch retailer.

Van der Meulen has published images of several previously-unseen sets coming our way later this year, including two brand new LEGO Disney models and a batch of five new Friends products. Last on that list (for now, anyway) is 21173 The Sky Tower, which comes in as the eighth Minecraft set of 2021 so far.

Not much else is known about the set beyond the initial image you can see below – including its price, piece count or release date – but it’s safe to assume it will launch on June 1, alongside the LEGO Group’s other summer 2021 releases (including the latest batch of Harry Potter sets).

According to set numbers listed on Brickset, 21173 The Sky Tower is one of just five new Minecraft sets thought to be on the way later this year. They’ll follow on from the two new models that debuted just last month, 21168 The Warped Forest and 21169 The First Adventure.

We’ll bring you more on the rest of this year’s Minecraft releases as we get them. For now, take a moment to appreciate 21173 The Sky Tower’s bounty of teal elements, and that adorable brick-built cat.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
