Two new LEGO Technic 2023 sets revealed – Lamborghini, Audi

Two new LEGO Technic Lamborghini and Audi sets are on the way later this summer, as revealed through initial images from an online retailer.

JB Spielwaren has shared a first look at 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron and 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, both of which are racing on to shelves in August. The two vehicles occupy wildly different price points with relatively close piece counts, but as you’ll find out below, there’s a reason for that…

Based on an electric off-road car designed to take part in cross-country rally racing, 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron takes advantage of the CONTROL+ platform. You can expect at least one motor in the box as a result (hence the price), and from the images published by JB, it looks like the vehicle will be able to steer, too.

42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica

Price: £TBC / $TBC / €52.99 Pieces: 806 Release date: August 1, 2023

If 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 is beyond your LEGO Technic budget, 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica looks to provide a more affordable alternative. It’s decked out in the same lime green shell (albeit for a different model of Lambo), and comes in at just €52.99.

Both of these LEGO Technic sets will launch on August 1, joining three more new sets that have just arrived on shelves today. International pricing and availability will presumably be confirmed once they’re up on LEGO.com.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
