New LEGO Super Mario Character Packs series confirmed

An all-new range of LEGO Super Mario character packs has been confirmed for a reveal at LEGO CON 2022, bringing the total to five series.

The schedule of events at LEGO CON 2022 includes the confirmation that a new collection of LEGO Super Mario Character Packs will be revealed at the show. The language of ‘all-new’ suggests that the schedule isn’t referring to 71402 Character Packs – Series 4, which was released at the start of the year – six months from LEGO CON 2022.

At the time of writing, there have been four series of LEGO Super Mario Character Packs from 2020 to 2022, each corresponding with a new wave of sets for the theme. These small models are bling-bagged builds based on characters and power-ups from the Super Mario games with 10 creations per series. We reviewed the fourth series in full here.

Later this year on August 1, a new collection of expansion sets introducing Princess Peach to LEGO Super Mario will release, so it seems possible that a fifth series could arrive alongside it. Until an announcement arrives though, we won’t know for certain

We’ll likely find out more about the exact details of this new range of LEGO Super Mario Character Packs when LEGO CON 2022 begins on June 18, including what power-ups, enemies and characters have been picked for the brick-built figures.
