Only a few months left to pick up this LEGO Super Mario set – and now at a discount

This is one of many LEGO Super Mario sets set to retire in July – but you can now pick it up for almost a third off before it’s gone for good.

There are only a few months left to fill any gaps in your LEGO Super Mario collection, if you’re after the original waves of play-centred builds. Among them is 71409 Big Spike’s Cloudtop Challenge Expansion Set, now reduced from £59.99 to just £41.99 at John Lewis. You will need a LEGO Super Mario Starter Course in order to use it, but luckily all of the original three are still available at LEGO.com, 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course, 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course, and 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course, if you haven’t got them already.

Once you’re set up and ready to go, some of the brick-built challenges available through 71409 Big Spike’s Cloudtop Challenge Expansion Set include dodging the spiked roller thrown by the Big Spike, jumping on the trampolines to get to the Boomerang Bro, and gaining extra power from the Super Star Block.

Head to John Lewis to snag 71409 Big Spike’s Cloudtop Challenge Expansion Set at a whopping 30% discount while you still can. With just a few months left in the LEGO Super Mario set’s lifetime, this could be the last time to see such a tempting discount.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
