Predicting the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 sets
The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 sets are about to be revealed, and we’ve got our predictions in place for the finalists.
Tonight at 12:00pm PT / 7:00pm GMT, the live BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 reveal event will confirm the five upcoming sets that will join the long list of finalists in the program so far. With the success rate of LEGO Castle models, buildings and more, as well as balancing out the topics and sizes accordingly, we’ve got our predictions ready for tonight.
This list is subjective, and given the nearly 400 designs, the only exceedingly likely possibility is at least one LEGO Castle set. At least there’s not long to go until we see how right (and wrong) our predictions are. Based on what has been picked and done well so far, here are our five finalist predictions for the seventh series of the BrickLink Designer Program. Click here to see the rest of the many models, all with a chance of being picked for Series 7.
Brickyard Court

The 721-piece Brickyard Court by LarsHaakon would be an ideal small but modular-compatible entry into the seventh series, and while the BrickLink Designer Program is steering away from modular buildings, the small size and lack of building in this design seems to have convinced the BrickLink team to keep it in Series 7.
Northpoint Academy

KingCreations’ Northpoint Academy remains impressive even after the modular connection points were removed to fit with the new rules. It still boasts a full school recreation using 3,156 pieces, and it’s unlike anything seen in the few official LEGO school sets. This unique subject matter may help increase the diversity in Series 7, depending on what else is picked.
Canal Houseboat

Series 4’s Merchant Houseboat might not have been the most popular project, but the more realistic subject matter in JonasKramm’s Canal Houseboat should give it extra appeal to city builders and fans of canal boats overall. With just 1,083 pieces, it would also come in as another smaller entry in Series 7 to help balance out the selection’s inevitably huge models.
Medieval City Gate

There’s almost certainly going to be at least one medieval model in Series 7 of the BrickLink Designer Program after the last series’ Castle sets sold out on the first day. With plenty of castles of all kinds in the BrickLink and official LEGO portfolios, though, martin_studio98’s Medieval City Gate would strike a balance between reliably successful and diverse, adding a useful village and gate to any medieval display. It’s made up of 3,218 pieces.
The Portal of Shadows

Instead of leaning entirely into LEGO Castle, it would be great to see Series 7 veer into the realm of fantasy instead (while still being compatible with LEGO Castle) with BrentWaller’s The Portal of Shadows. The 3,891-piece build calls back to the 2008 era of LEGO Castle and the fantasy aspects it embraced but also would pair perfectly with the LEGO Dugeons & Dragons minifigures. Either way, it’s an impressive creation that would fit the LEGO Castle niche, with a welcome twist.
