Earlier this week, the LEGO Group announced its latest Technic 1:8 model – and while you might think it’s expensive, it’s nothing compared to the real thing.
Launching on July 1, 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is a 4,104-piece model of Koenigsegg’s 2025 Sadair’s Spear, an ultra-exclusive, track-focused megacar.
The set retails for £399.99 / $449.99 / €449.99, but that is still a fraction of the cost of the real vehicle.

Built by the Swedish manufacturer, the car takes its name from a racehorse ridden by CEO Christian von Koenigsegg’s father during his final race as a gentleman jockey in 1976. It remains a deeply personal and symbolic model for the brand – and its price reflects that exclusivity.
Production is strictly limited to just 30 units worldwide, driving the cost of the real Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear to an eye-watering £3.8 million.
That means one real Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear costs the same as 9,500 copies of 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear. In LEGO terms, that adds up to 38,988,000 pieces in total. Purchasing them would also earn 30,400,000 LEGO Insiders points.
If you bought all 9,500 sets during a double Insiders points event – such as the one currently running – you would instead earn 60,800,000 points, equivalent to around £380,000 in LEGO store credit (excluding any additional 3% Brick Credits via the Brick Search app).

For a middle ground between the LEGO and real versions, the LEGO Group has also produced a record-breaking, life-size version of the car, though it’s not for sale.
42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear launches July 1 for LEGO Insiders and July 4 for everyone else for £399.99 / $449.99 / €449.99. Buy your copy between July 1 and 6 and you’ll receive 40894 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Steering Wheel as a gift with purchase, while stocks last.
