Tom Holland meets giant LEGO Spider-Man ahead of Marvel return

Tom Holland has come face-to-face with a giant LEGO Spider-Man to celebrate the release of Marvel’s latest blockbuster.

The British actor is back as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which swings into theatres next week.

Designed by Brickman Exhibitions, the giant recreation of the iconic superhero took 166 hours to build and uses 21,056 LEGO pieces. Brickman Exhibitions is an Australian team of LEGO artists led by Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught, who previously served as a judge on LEGO Masters Australia.

A time-lapse video of the build was shared on Instagram before Tom Holland came face-to-face with the finished creation.

“That is really cool,” the British actor said. “And that is absolutely a pose that I would do with the lazy hand. I love it.”

Thankfully, fans don’t need to actually play Spider-Man to see the build. Between 6pm and 9pm on July 23, visitors to Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall can take photos with the model and have the chance to win a LEGO Spider-Man prize pack worth nearly $500.

Three LEGO Spider-Man sets have currently been revealed for the movie’s release. 76350 Spider-Man vs. Hulk Epic Clash , 76349 Spider-Man Prison Transport Chase and 76346 Spider-Man Hero Figure are all available in stores and online at LEGO.com.
