What’s on your wishlist? How to maximise £1,000 of free LEGO

Nine LEGO fans around the world will win their wishlists this summer – so what’s on yours, and how best can you maximise returns?

The LEGO Group’s latest sweepstake offers the chance to win your wishlist at LEGO.com this summer, up to the value of £1,000 (or the approximate equivalent in other currencies) across nine different countries: the UK, US, Canada (excluding Quebec), France, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Czechia.

Check out the table below for the cap on winnings where you are.

Country Prize value
United Kingdom £1,000
United States $1,000 (USD)
Canada $1,000 (CAD)
France €1,000
Denmark DKK 7,500
Germany €1,000
Norway NOK 10,000
Sweden SEK 11,000
Czechia 25,000 Kč

To get your name in the hat, all you need to do is create a wishlist at LEGO.com, then head to the main wishlist landing page. At the top you’ll find a banner with a button to enter the sweepstake. Select the wishlist you want to enter, agree to the terms and conditions and submit. You’ve got until July 31 at 3:59pm BST to enter. The winners will be contacted on August 14 (or shortly thereafter).

What should I add to my LEGO wishlist?

So, what’s the best way to maximise returns on this sweepstake? Well, the obvious answer is to add exclusive sets to your wishlist that you can’t get anywhere else besides LEGO.com – and therefore are unlikely to see discounts. Think sets like 10294 Titanic, 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship and 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger.

Another option is to go all-out on the sets you might otherwise only look longingly at but would never realistically be able to afford. The top tier of expensive LEGO sets would fit nicely here: 75419 Death Star, for example, although that would take up almost all of the wishlist in one go. Alternatively, you could opt for a one-two combo of 10316 Rivendell and 10333 Barad-dûr.

Speaking of The Lord of the Rings: the other obvious path to take here is filling your wishlist with new releases that have yet to see significant discounts, or may not do so for a while yet, like 11377 Minas Tirith.

That one’s on my wishlist – here’s the full roster, if you’re interested, which totals a neat £999.96. I’ve gone for three exclusives, plus a smaller Creator set to maximise the value of the wishlist prize.

Let us know what’s on your wishlist in the comments, and good luck in the sweepstake. Just make sure to head to LEGO.com and enter by July 31 – you’ve got to be in it to win it.
