Ranking the LEGO Spider-Verse minifigures

12 new LEGO Spider-Verse minifigures have been officially revealed, and despite not seeing them in hand yet, we’re ranking the lot of them.

The LEGO Group has lifted the curtain on its next minifigures series, bringing the popular collectables back to minifigures after a few laps around the Formula 1 track. The new series is based on all things Spider-Verse, taking characters from the second animated film and making them minifigures for (mostly) the first time ever.

They will go perfectly with the minifigures in 76311 Miles Morales vs. The Spot from earlier this year, but before they land on shelves, we’re ranking all 12 to see which minifigure comes out on top. This list is only based on our first impression after seeing the official images, and it will be interesting to see whether this ranking changes once 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is available.

Here’s how we’ve ranked the new LEGO Spider-Verse minifigures based on this first impression, ordered from our least favourite to our most favourite.

12 – Peter Parker / Werewolf Spider-Man

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 37 1024x1024

The werewolf of Spider-Man may be quirky, but it’s not nearly as memorable as any other minifigure in the series. There’s no doubting the high level of detail, with printed arms, legs, dual-moulding and a werewolf head print we certainly won’t see again soon.

Despite these positives, this variant of Spider-Man just isn’t as memorable as others in the film, many of which are represented in the new series. This minifigure is the second Marvel werewolf collectable minifigure to be less impressive than the rest of the series.

11 – Peter B. Parker / Spider-Man & May “Mayday” Parker

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 26 1024x1024

It’s good to see that the Peter Parker variant from the first movie finally has a minifigure, and it’s entertaining to see that it follows the outfit from the second movie with a pink robe and a baby carrier.

While this outfit is fun, and it’s good to see a new face print for this Peter Parker variant, the adorable Mayday baby figure isn’t enough to stop this minifigure from ranking low on our list, mostly due to the outlandish nature of that outfit and less detail than other minifigures.

10 – Charlotte Webber / Sun-Spider

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 33 1024x1024

It is exciting to see that this Spider-Sona has become both an official Marvel character and now a LEGO minifigure, but this level of obscurity means it is destined to sit near the bottom of our ranking.

That’s not to say that LEGO Sun-Spider is without some interesting new pieces, though, debuting a crutch element that will be great for all kinds of minifigures and a stylish backwards hat that will hopefully venture beyond this minifigure in the years to come.

9 – Patrick O’Hara / Web-Slinger

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 35 1024x1024

Web-Slinger sits just above Sun-Spider in our ranking for a few reasons. The level of detail is on a similar level, but with the addition of a printed cape piece for his poncho that is adorned with a recognisable spider insignia.

The real reason that Web-Slinger comes out on top of Sun-Spider in this first impression ranking is the inclusion of Widow, Web-Slinger’s trusty horse companion who comes with their own printed. Widow is too small to ride, but a full-sized horse is too big to be in a minifigure series.

8 – Margo Kess / Spider-Byte

With a fun digital design, a reference-filled accessory and our first method of unmasking a Spider-Verse series minifigure, Spider-Byte is next and has a new helmet element that may find use in space displays.

The transparent arms and legs also increase this minifigure’s appeal, and it’s not often that such parts will have as much printing as possible. While we wait to see what role Margo will play in the next Spider-Verse movie, this is one minifigure not to overlook come September.

7 – Gwen Stacy / Spider Gwen

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 19 1024x1024

Gwen Stacy’s minifigure in 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a huge improvement on the minifigure in 76311 Miles Morales vs. The Spot. It comes complete with dual-moulded leg printing, arm printing and a new hair element that best depicts the character.

Spider Gwen’s accessory is a great Easter egg, too, recreating the selfie that Miles and Gwen take on the way back from Alchemax, a moment that we don’t get to see in the film beyond this physical photo Gwen makes.

6 – Pavitr Prabhakar / Spider-Man India

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 28 1024x1024

Spider-Man India’s debut minifigure is sure to be a hit, thanks to the impression this character gave audiences in the second animated movie. That’s before you consider the extra unmasked head, featured in a few but not all Spider-Man minifigures in the series.

We can’t ignore the Spider-Cat figure included exclusively in this minifigure as well. While its printing is light compared to the outfit of the character in the movie, that means it’s a near-perfect match to Spider-Man the cat from the Insomniac Marvel game series.

5 – Miles Morales / Spider-Man

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 29 1024x1024

The star of the Spider-Verse movies sits near the top of the list thanks to how iconic this character has become. This is a similar minifigure to that of 76311 Miles Morales vs. The Spot, but with printing on the legs and lightning details on the arms and torso. Thankfully, such detailing has been left off the legs so that you can swap them into the 76311 Miles Morales vs. The Spot for a quick and easy upgrade.

An unmasked head is also included, reusing the hair from 76311 Miles Morales vs. The Spot, and the spider accessory is without printing that would have taken it to the next level, keeping Miles from the top spot.

4 – Miguel O’Hara / Spider-Man 2099

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 24 1024x1024

This is not our first Spider-Man 2099 minifigure, but the original one has become rare and expensive on the secondary market. It’s good to see this character return, but with a slightly different design that better fits the animated movie. Miguel’s new minifigure has a great level of detail through the unmasked head, arm printing and the cape.

It’s the printed LYLA microfigure that takes it to another level, though, and it’s sure to prove nearly as collectable as the main minifigure itself.

3 – Petra Parker / Cyborg Spider-Woman

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 1 1024x1024

Petra’s role in the second Spider-Verse movie may have been diminished after a scene was deleted for the final movie, but thankfully, that hasn’t stopped her from receiving an impressive minifigure that will go well with the other Cyborg Spider-Man minifigure from a book earlier this year.

Cyborg Spider-Woman comes with stylised printing depicting her unique animation style, as well as printing on every possible part of the minifigure. For how well Petra pairs with another recent Spider-Man minifigure and that new armour element, Cyborg Spider-Woman ranks highly on our list.

2 – Miles G. Morales / Prowler

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 39 1024x1024

With a likely major role in the third Spider-Verse movie, Miles as the Prowler is a fantastic minifigure thanks to the array of new elements on display, the record accessory and the level of printing. The unmasked and masked hair pieces is an especially great touch from the LEGO Group, adding an appreciated level of detail.

It’s one minifigure to grab ahead of the third film, whenever it eventually releases, to partner up with the regular Miles minifigure for a dynamic and different duo on display.

1 – Hobie Brown / Spider-Punk

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71505 Spider Man Across the Spider Verse 31 1024x1024

Spider-Punk tops the list easily as the must-have minifigure of this series. The minifigure comes with an unmasked head and hair, the iconic spiked metal mohawk that Spider-Punk’s mask is decorated with.

There’s also printing that pays tribute to Hobie’s animation style as well as a detailed guitar, and it’s all in a Spider-Man minifigure that we’ve never had before. This is the first-ever LEGO Spider-Punk.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
