Retired LEGO City set discounted at John Lewis

John Lewis still has stock of a LEGO City set that retired at the end of 2023 – and it’s available at a hefty discount on clearance.

60321 Fire Brigade originally hit shelves in January 2022, and hung around for just under two years at LEGO.com, where it’s now marked as a retired product. But there’s still time to pick up the 766-piece set from John Lewis, where you score 60321 Fire Brigade for 30% off on clearance – but only while stocks last.

That brings the model down from £89.99 to just £62.99. And it’s as complete a LEGO fire brigade experience as you could ask for, with a fire engine, fire car, firefighters and a burning sardine factory all packed into the box. It’s the sort of thing you’d have gone nuts for as a kid, and would either make a great gift for a younger relative or slot right into your wider LEGO city layout.

There are some pretty fun narrative choices here too, including the trio of cats skulking around for the spoils from the sardine factory (or maybe waiting to be rescued by the firefighting crew). There’s also a guy in a hazmat suit ready to clear out the factory once the fire’s out, and we’re choosing to believe he’s had to fully suit up because of the smell of all those burnt sardines.

With seven minifigures total in 60321 Fire Brigade – including two LEGO City Adventures characters – and even a section of the current LEGO road plates system, this is a very good deal for only £62.99. But it will only be available while John Lewis’s remaining stock lasts. After that, you’ll need to turn to the aftermarket to add it to your LEGO City collection, so head over to John Lewis to grab yours now.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
