Two rumoured LEGO Marvel sets set to focus on Guardians of the Galaxy
Two new LEGO Marvel sets could be on their way, focusing on Guardians of the Galaxy – but in two very different styles.
According to 1414falconfan via brick_clicker on Instagram, two new LEGO Marvel sets could be coming to shelves soon: 76255 The New Guardians Spaceship and 76251 Star Lord’s Helmet. The former is believed to have a higher price and piece count of the two, at $99.99 and 1,108, although this is still smaller and cheaper than 76193 The Guardians’ Ship.
Believed to be a 602-piece set selling at $79.99, 76251 Star Lord’s Helmet could be the latest addition to the collection of LEGO Marvel helmet sets, joining 76165 Iron Man’s Helmet, 76187 Venom, and 76199 Carnage. While the last two aren’t technically helmets, they are all display sets made in a similar style, potentially soon to be joined by a brick-built version of Peter Quill’s helmet. This could be one of two LEGO Marvel/DC helmets believed to be on their way.
Giving the half-human, half-Celestial the ability to breathe air and survive in outer space, the helmet is identifiable from its glowing red eyepieces and breathing tubes that wrap around from the side. It also has various lights and controls along the cheeks and jawline, but a key feature is that it doesn’t have any material on the top, leaving Quill’s hair to ripple in the space wind. This could provide an interesting building obstacle for the LEGO designers to overcome, with no other helmet from either LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Marvel needing to deal with this issue yet.
Until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group, we’ll need to take these rumours with a pinch of salt. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when we hear anything further.
