Rumoured LEGO summer 2024 set may be too small for NINJAGO City
A rumoured LEGO NINJAGO summer 2024 set appears to be much larger than most NINJAGO sets, but not quite big enough for NINJAGO City.
The list of rumoured LEGO NINJAGO summer 2024 models that recently surfaced via 1414FalconFan has one outlying model – 71814 reportedly coming in at 3,489 pieces for $249.99. It’s rumoured to be released in summer 2024.
Provided the rumour is accurate, that’s smaller than every other LEGO NINJAGO City set but notably bigger than 70751 Temple of Airjitzu and its 2,028 pieces as well as the rest of the theme.
Every LEGO NINJAGO City set
| Set name | Price | Pieces | Release date |
|---|---|---|---|
| 70620 NINJAGO City | £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99 | 4,867 | September 1, 2017 |
| 70657 NINJAGO City Docks | £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 | 3,553 | June 1, 2018 |
| 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens | £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99 | 5,685 | February 1, 2021 |
| 71799 NINJAGO City Markets | £319.99 / $369.99 / €369.99 | 6,163 | June 1, 2023 |
Given the relatively recent release of 71799 NINJAGO City Markets, the biggest LEGO NINJAGO set and the largest in the modular range so far, a smaller entry into the collection next could make sense. It may be comparable to 70657 NINJAGO City Docks arriving less than a year after the much larger 70620 NINJAGO City and it has a similar rumoured piece count to boot.

It’s worth noting that 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens is scheduled to retire at the end of 2024. Provided no other NINJAGO City sets are released before the end of the year, that would mean that there are no models available for purchase to attach to the markets, unless you own one of the retired sets.
Provided the rumours are accurate, 71814 would be the smallest entry into NINJAGO City yet, though that doesn’t have to limit its size. 70657 NINJAGO City Docks is wider than 70620 NINJAGO City but shorter as an overall expansion model. A similar expansion to the wider 71799 NINJAGO Ciy Markets could be a thinner but taller build over half of a baseplate, as the range has explored previously in 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens.
While 3,489 elements don’t appear to be enough pieces for a NINJAGO City set, it could be adequate for the smallest entry in the modular collection so far with some creative design. For now, nothing has been officially confirmed and all rumours should be taken with caution.
