Seven LEGO June 1 sets you might have overlooked – but shouldn’t

Dozens of LEGO sets are due for release on June 1, but there are a few that might have gone under your radar so far.

The LEGO Group is gearing up to launch a wealth of sets on June 1, but some were revealed a while back or have been glossed over in the community, with attention turning to larger builds like 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine and 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger.

We’ve picked out seven LEGO sets that you might have overlooked so far – but are well worth your attention. Make sure you don’t look past some of these newcomers when it comes to shopping on June 1.

77077 Klombo

Price: £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 Pieces: 1,084 Link: Buy at LEGO.com

LEGO Fortnite 77077 Klombo 1 1024x576

LEGO Fortnite revealed its second wave a few weeks back, with a lot of the attention going to the minifigures and the towering 77078 Mecha Team Leader, which isn’t due for release until August. However, 77077 Klombo is an excellent addition to the growing collection of buildable characters, striking an excellent balance between display and play. The stumpy legs and tooth-filled mouth perfectly capture the larger-than-life personality, creating a set you definitely shouldn’t overlook.

60469 Central Train Station

Price: £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99 Pieces: 752 Link: Buy at LEGO.com

LEGO City 60469 Central Train Station 1 1024x576

LEGO City often introduces quirky architectural features that might get glossed over by modular building fans or architecture lovers. The curved window and classic tower in 60469 Central Train Station are perfect for brick-built train lovers – and it’s just begging to be doubled up with to create one seamless bridge.

76451 Privet Drive: Aunt Marge’s Visit

Price: £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99 Pieces: 639 Link: Buy at LEGO.com

LEGO Harry Potter 76451 Lifestyle featured 1024x576

There’s a bumper wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets, but don’t only look at the magical location of 76454 Hogwarts Castle: The Main Tower and the quirky bookish model of 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express. 76451 Privet Drive: Aunt Marge’s Visit is the most detailed version of Harry’s childhood home yet – and we’re tempted to buy it just to get our hands on that instant icon of a blown-up Aunt Marge.

76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission

Price: £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 Pieces: 858 Link: Buy at LEGO.com

LEGO Jurassic World 76974 Brick Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission 3 1 1024x681

We’ve waxed lyrical about the possibilities of brick-built dinosaurs and what that means for LEGO Jurassic World. With a decent chunk of time since the reveal and reviews of the upcoming wave went live, we’re back to remind you that 76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission is now finally here and well worth the space in your June LEGO budget.

71842 Rontu the Master Dragon / 71843 Rogue’s Mech Dragon Rider

Price: £39.99 / $44.99 / €44.99 Pieces: 381 Link: Buy now at LEGO.com| Price: £59.99 / $74.99 / €69.99 Pieces: 584 Link: Buy now at LEGO.com

LEGO NINJAGO is leaning into some truly magnificent dragon builds this June. If you’re bemoaning the fact that you don’t want to shell out triple figures for 71847 The Guardian Dragon, there are some much more affordable but equally impressive options in the form of 71842 Rontu the Master Dragon and 71843 Rogue’s Mech Dragon Rider.

76458 Thestral Family

Price: £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 Pieces: 548 Link: Buy now at LEGO.com

LEGO Harry Potter 76458 Lifestyle featured 1024x576

Although admittedly 76458 Thestral Family seems a little overpriced for its 548 pieces, the magical creatures are wonderfully recreated here. The LEGO Harry Potter designes have managed to make skeleton horses cute again, an admirable feat – and one that pays off beautifully.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
