Seven more LEGO Marvel final battle models we need to see

The new final battle LEGO Marvel sets seem to start a new collection, one that could realise the potential of the cinematic universe.

Both 76261 Spider-Man Final battle and 76266 Endgame Final battle have been revealed and judging by their black circular bases and similar naming structures, this seems to be the start of a range of Marvel dioramas. The duo is launching on August 1, 2023.

While nothing more in this possible collection has been confirmed, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has no shortage of final battles across its various movies and series so here are seven more that we’d like to see inspire sets in the future. Note that spoilers for several MCU entries will follow.

7 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

As the most recent project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, at the time of writing, the Guardians’ takedown of the High Evolutionary could make an exciting final battle build.

The circular structure of the chamber where they fight is well-suited to the base of the first two builds as well. Consider that we’ve not had a minifigure of the movie’s main villain too.

6 – WandaVision

With numerous minifigures that could potentially be included across several locations, WandaVision’s final battle model could be split into a few sections for the various encounters that take place within the last episode.

Add a turntable and it would be a unique entry into LEGO Marvel with a good dose of colour from the red and purple magic hexes.

5 – Captain America: Civil War

Technically it’s not quite the final battle. However, the airport scene from Captain America: Civil War could benefit from another model and the diorama-like setup of 76261 Spider-Man Final battle and 76266 Endgame Final battle may be perfect for it.

There’s a multitude of minifigures to pick from and Giant-Man could act as the centrepiece of the model, with the action unfolding around him.

4 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

With the LEGO Group’s new partnership with Bandai Namco and the reference to PAC-MAN in the final battle of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the scene is ripe for its first model.

With the celestial powers of creation on show in this battle, there’s lots to draw from for the build and it has an overall similar colour scheme to the two existing sets.

3 – Thor: Ragnarok

Asgard’s rainbow bridge is a model that we’ve been waiting for in LEGO Marvel and the final battle of Thor: Ragnarok could be a good opportunity for a brick-built version.

Hulk and Fenris could be battling underneath the bridge with Loki, Thor, Valkyrie, Hela and more minifigures on top, jumping into the action just like in the film.

2 – Ant-Man

Inspired by 76039 Ant-Man Final Battle, a new final battle build for the first Ant-Man film could see more toys recreated beyond a pair of LEGO bricks.

Cassie’s bedroom in the movie had a Thomas the Tank Engine toy running into Yellowjacket, but admittedly that character might realistically need to be substituted for a generic train toy instead.

1 – Iron Man 2

The battle at the Stark Expo featuring Iron Man and War Machine surrounded by Hammer Drones in the natural terrain seems perfect for the circular structure of the LEGO Marvel final battle sets.

A range of transparent pieces could be used to represent missiles and beams in the air with the duo positioned at the centre. While minifigures for the drones could be good, brick-built versions are an alternative option to keep the price down too.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
