Seven retiring LEGO sets worth buying with double points

The latest double points event is underway at LEGO.com, which makes it prime time to catch up on the dozens of sets that are about to retire.

While most LEGO sets typically retire at the end of a calendar year, the LEGO Group is clearing house across a bunch of themes this July – and many of those sets have already sold out in some regions. This really is last-chance saloon for a lot of them, and for those that otherwise rarely see discounts or are exclusive to LEGO.com, the current double points event is your best chance to pick them up.

Double Insiders points is equivalent to 10% cashback to spend on future purchases or at the Insiders Rewards Centre. If your basket totals at least £135 in the UK, $150 in the US or €150 in Europe, you’ll also qualify for 40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci until June 28 (or while stocks last). Double points is available on everything at LEGO.com until June 29.

71848 The Temple Bounty

LEGO NINJAGO 71848 featured

NINJAGO’s latest take on the Destiny’s Bounty only sailed on to shelves in June 2025, but is already departing for new horizons (read: the aftermarket) this July. 71848 The Temple Bounty has sold out in the US already but is still available in the UK and Europe, and will automatically qualify for 40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci while returning £18 / €20 in Insiders points.

21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale

LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons Red Dragon's Tale featured-1

The one and only LEGO D&D set isn’t long for this world, and given it’s the last castle-adjacent set in the portfolio (outside Creator 3-in-1), now’s the time to pounce if you haven’t already. If you already own 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, it might be worth springing for a second copy – partly for the fan designer’s latest alternate build, and partly for the £31.50 / $36 / €36 in points. It’s bound to jump in price post-retirement…

60473 The City Tower

LEGO City 60473 the city tower lifestyle featured

The second-biggest LEGO City set to date will have managed just over a year on shelves by the time it retires next month, and as a sort of catch-all for the theme’s staples – police, fire, construction, transport, space and so on – it’s got a lot to offer. 60473 The City Tower isn’t the cheapest set around thanks to its size, but double points and a GWP is a pretty good return.

21350 Jaws

LEGO Ideas 21350 JAWS featured-1

You can imagine that we’ll probably one day get another Hogwarts Castle, but what are the odds we ever see another LEGO Jaws set? Slim to none, especially given 21350 Jaws so perfectly encapsulates everything you could want from such a model. It’s one of three Ideas sets on this list that rarely see discounts, so double points is worth taking advantage of before it retires. Add something small to your bag to qualify for da Vinci, too.

10323 PAC-MAN Arcade

If 11374 Arcade Pinball Machine suddenly has you dreaming of building a full LEGO arcade, don’t miss out on 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade, which is leaving shelves just as its space-themed successor arrives. The 2,651-piece set will qualify for 40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci and return £23 / $27 / €27 in points.

21352 Magic of Disney

Another LEGO Ideas set worth your attention before it retires, 21352 Magic of Disney feels like it’s flown entirely under the radar since release. As a single point of celebration for the House of Mouse and its characters and movies, though, there’s a lot to enjoy here – and isn’t it always the underrated sets that suddenly spike in price after retirement? If you’ve been on the fence with this one, double points is a good time to take the plunge.

76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition

LEGO Harry Potter 76417 Gringotts Bank featured-1

Finally, here’s one more recommendation for 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition, which is still available to order from LEGO.com in the UK and Europe (but has long since sold out in the US). We’ve waxed lyrical about the best LEGO Harry Potter set already, and with double points on top – plus the da Vinci GWP – it’s a no-brainer. This one will net you £37 / €43 in Insiders points.

Head to LEGO.com to take advantage of double points now. You’ve got until June 29 to buy, although there are no guarantees any of these retiring sets will stay in stock that long. 40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci is free with all orders above £135 / $150 / €150 until June 28, or while stocks last.
