This is your sign to whittle down your wishlist of retiring LEGO sets

With just a few months left of the year, it’s time to get serious about any retiring LEGO sets on your wishlist that you’ve not ticked off yet.

At this time of year, the LEGO Group has now confirmed its list of retiring sets for 2024 – and it’s a doozy. There are over 300 LEGO sets set to cease production on December 31 and some might even disappear before then, depending on stock levels.

We’ve already had the nasty scare of the soon-to-retire 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina disappearing from the official online LEGO store in the UK, with few third-party retailers having remaining stock of the beloved LEGO Star Wars set. Thankfully, it’s now back – but not for long, with December just around the corner. It’s a welcome reminder that some sets could go out of stock earlier than the end of the year, so now is the time to buy if there are any you’d regret not picking up.

Of course, with so many sets heading for retirement, narrowing down your wishlist could prove tricky. That’s why Brick Fanatics‘ Matthew is here to help, picking out some of his personal favourites that he’s adding to his Christmas list this year. Perhaps you’ll find some of your own favourites on the list, or maybe he can inspire you to create one of your own – either way, head over to our YouTube channel to watch along with him.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
