Six of the best LEGO March 2024 sets for… display
Looking for the best new LEGO display sets? From Star Wars to NINJAGO, these top picks from the March 2024 releases might be just the ticket.
Some of us buy LEGO sets to part out for custom builds; others buy them to hoard their minifigures in wall-mounted display frames; and others still buy them to actually play with (with or without kids – don’t say you’ve never swooshed your Galaxy Explorer around the room while making engine noises). But for a good chunk of us, buying LEGO is about showing off your latest and greatest build for all to see.
That’s where these six sets come in. Hand-picked from the more than 50 brand new LEGO sets arriving on March 1, these are the best of next month’s releases if you’re looking specifically for something new to display.
6 – 75375 Millennium Falcon
Price: £74.99 / $84.99 / €84.99 Pieces: 921 Release date: March 1, 2024

One of three new midi-scale LEGO Star Wars sets launching in March, 75375 Millennium Falcon just makes this list ahead of 75376 Tantive IV and 75377 Invisible Hand for its iconicity – and for the fact that it’s the best display-worthy Falcon next to 75192 Millennium Falcon, which comes in at roughly 10 times the price. If you want an attractive yet affordable hunk of junk from a galaxy far, far away, this is your best bet.
5 – 31154 Forest Animals: Red Fox
Price: £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 Pieces: 667 Release date: March 1, 2024

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 animals just keep getting better and better. 31154 Forest Animals: Red Fox is no exception to that rule – and it’s also another example of how the display potential of this theme has caught up to its creativity in recent years, this time delivering convincing and organic representations of three different woodland creatures. You can’t go wrong with any of them, but that fox is an all-timer.
4 – 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance
Price: £189.99 / $219.99 / €219.99 Pieces: 1,642 Release date: March 1, 2024

The first of two LEGO Formula 1 sets on this list – both of which are arriving just in time for the new season, almost like it was planned – 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance is the meatier and more technical option for F1 fans hungry for a new display piece. Because it’s a LEGO Technic set with 1,642 pieces. Bonus features include steering and moving pistons, but let’s face it: you don’t care about those. This thing’s going on a shelf. And it’s going to look great.
3 – 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna
Price: £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 Pieces: 693 Release date: March 1, 2024

After an F1 car that won’t quite break the bank come March 1? Look instead to 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna. You know this one’s meant for display because it’s got a stand. Cars don’t traditionally fly through the air, but the stand really does elevate this iconic Formula 1 racer – as does the accompanying Ayrton Senna minifigure, who has his own mini podium. It’s a breezy build by all accounts, but really looks the part when all’s said and done.
2 – 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Cottage
Price: £189.99 / $219.99 / €219.99 Pieces: 2,228 Release date: March 1, 2024 (Insiders)

43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Cottage is a cohesive, colourful and attractive ode to one of the very first Disney films that should tick all the right boxes for fans of classic animation come March 1. The open back will discourage a 360-degree display for some – just pop it on a shelf against the wall if that’s you – but will only increase the display options for others. Throw in every minifigure you could need from a Snow White set and it doesn’t get much better than this.
1 – 71819 Dragon Stone Shrine
Price: £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 Pieces: 1,212 Release date: March 1, 2024

Hands up if you predicted a LEGO NINJAGO set would be top of any list of LEGO sets best suited to display, then hands down again because we don’t believe you. Outside of the NINJAGO City sets and a handful of cool mechs, the vast majority of NINJAGO’s models are geared further towards play than display. But 71819 Dragon Stone Shrine is a keen exception to that rule, and you only need to look at the image above to see why. Just look at it.
