Six features we need in the rumoured LEGO Marvel 2025 mansion
Rumour of a new LEGO Marvel set in 2025 based on Tony Stark’s mansion needs a few features to best depict the luxurious superhero home.
Update: Fanklockow has removed all information for this set from their original post and made another report that this rumour is likely fake. As always, this is a reminder to treat all LEGO rumours with the utmost caution in case precisely this occurs.
A new rumour from the Polish fan site FanKlockow reports that in April next year, a 5,703-piece model of Tony Stark’s Malibu home from the Iron Man movies is said to be on the way. The mansion was last depicted in a 364-piece set in 2013 and it’s fair to say that there are a lot of upgrades and additions that would be doable with that part difference.
While all LEGO rumours should be taken with caution in case anything ends up being false, there are a few things that a new version of the mansion would need to improve on 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack.
6 – Proof that Tony Stark has a heart
Pepper’s gift to Tony that ultimately saved his life was featured briefly in 2021’s 76196 The Avengers Advent Calendar. An upgraded version with a printed round modified plate featuring the wording would be a great reference in a massive LEGO Tony Stark Malibu mansion model.
Should the rumoured set be anything like 76269 Avengers Tower, 76178 Daily Bugle and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, MCU Easter eggs will be a must-have. Pepper is rumoured to be a minifigure in the set too.
5 – Supercars
Underneath the mansion in the Iron Man movies is where Tony Stark stores his collection of cars and while part of that collection has been depicted in 76216 Iron Man Armory and 76167 Iron Man Armory, many other vehicles could be included in a set as large as the rumoured mansion.
Should the LEGO Group be willing to negotiate for licensing, this may be a chance for an Audi R8, Shelby Cobra, Saleen S7 and more in the eight-studs wide Speed Champions style. They may prefer to stick to original versions of the cars without the need for licensing though.
4 – A new Tony Stark minifigure
Tony Stark has had many minifigures over the years but the grey and black jumpsuit featured in the Iron Man movies has become synonymous with the character, yet has only had one minifigure in 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack.
Should the rumours of the 2025 set be accurate, a model with an updated version of this minifigure may be a possibility, but it’s not yet part of the reported minifigure selection. No other Tony Stark minifigure has worn this specific outfit since then but here’s hoping that this will change next year.
3 – Curves
While 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack is perfectly fine for its piece count, the mansion is much larger and more curved than it was depicted in the set. A much larger model would be an opportunity to use techniques including those seen in 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion to recreate the mansion with more curves than ever before.
This would be more accurate to the mansion as seen in the films and make for an increasingly interesting model compared to the 2013 set. As Beewiks demonstrates, there would still be space for the underground areas with the rumoured part count too.
2 – The giant plush bunny
The massive rabbit plush from Iron Man 3 would be another great reference for the rumoured set. As spotted by TurkeyBird1127 on Reddit has spotted that a reference to the giant stuffed toy may have already been featured in 76267 Avengers Advent Calendar from 2023.
This single-piece Easter egg would need an upgrade in a bigger version of the mansion though, opting for a brick-built design tucked away in a corner, as we see it in Iron Man 3.
1 – A different James Rhodes minifigure
While Don Cheadle has portrayed James Rhodes (also known as War Machine) for most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character was first played by Terrence Howard. This presents another good chance for an Easter egg in the rumoured set.
As JSH Bricks has shared on YouTube, a different version of the character based on Iron Man 1 can be accurately portrayed by adding Rhodes’ moustache from the film, ideally through a new printed head.
