LEGO NINJAGO fans are eating well this year and the next

Six things we learned from the LEGO NINJAGO SDCC 2026 panel

LEGO NINJAGO's huge Comic-Con 2026 panel is over, revealing many interesting details about what's left for NINJAGO this year and what's still to come in 2027.

Part of the LEGO Group's plans for San Diego Comic-Con 2026 included a panel for the anniversary and future of NINJAGO, promising 'major announcements'. Now that this panel has come to a close, we can go over exactly what was revealed at the event.

Fans in attendance have recorded everything revealed at the panel, sharing the news with the rest of us. Here's everything we learned about the theme's future at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.

The first LEGO NINJAGO 2027 set reveal

A new LEGO NINJAGO spinner pack was revealed at the panel, confirmed to be coming in 2027 and under set number 71875. It includes new versions of Lloyd and Ras with an armour piece that appears to be reversible, but when flipped upside down.

Also within the image, you can spot a new dragon head mould. Ras' return in NINJAGO sets suggests that his plotline and that of his master will finally be resolved in 2027. New episodes of Dragon's Rising are currently confirmed for September 2026.

Dragons Rising ends in 2027 with Dragon's Fury

LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising is now confirmed to have always been a five-year story, coming to a close in 2027. The final season will be named Dragon's Fury and be a full 20-episode special event that takes place across all of 2027.

A clip from Dragon's Fury features five evil ninja attacking the crossroads with no mercy, combining their powers to form all manner of natural disasters. Whether these are actually the ninja we know and love or clones is not currently confirmed.

It's also stated by attendees that Dragon's Fury has a modified animation style, featuring two-dimensional effects for elemental abilities. This will conclude Dragons Rising, but it won't be the end of NINJAGO.

Character updates

A canon scene about the ninja's latest post delivery was read on stage at the panel. It provided a few canon, in-universe updates on several characters. Dareth is not a fan of Sora, likely out of jealousy for never joining the team. Misako and Skylor are confirmed to be alive after The Merge, and Kai has been sending romantic poems to Skylor.

Duskfall announced for September, with a new trailer

A new trailer for LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Duskfall was also shared at the panel, and a September release window was announced for the series. The trailer features a much older Nya and Kai, stylised animation similar to Monstrosity but with more realistic proportions, and a giant white oni.

Duskfall is confirmed to be completely canon and takes place in the far, far future of the theme's story. The new trailer has not yet been released publicly, and we've included the previous teaser footage shared officially above.

NINJAGO will be around for at least another five years

Towards the end of the panel, the team announced that they were already working on content for LEGO NINJAGO's 20th anniversary in 2031. Expect the theme to be around for another five years, at least, and likely far beyond that, given its current success.

This year's 15th anniversary has seen special sets, anniversary minifigures and much more. Feel free to come back to this report in five years and let us know what was announced. Right now, you can find the likes of 71861 The Old Town on shelves.

A Frohicky minifigure may be on the way

LEGO NINJAGO Alfonzo Frohicky

After years of waiting, the LEGO NINJAGO team are starting to tease a physical Mr. Frohicky minifigure. The final question from the audience at the panel asked about a minifigure for the character, with the team responding to 'stay tuned'.

For those who are unaware, Mr/ Frohicky is a character introduced at the start of Dragons Rising and has been looking after the Monastery of Spinjitzu for years. He is not a fighter, but he cares a lot and has quickly become a fan-favourite for his genuine nature. Exactly how he might receive a minifigure was not elaborated on.

LEGO NINJAGO 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops-5

A new set of the monastery would make the most sense, but a build of the Crossroads or even a new NINJAGO City entry would also have the budget for a new head sculpt. That's unless the NINJAGO team want to use the recent frog costume hat. Frohicky was rumoured for what became 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops, but he never came to fruition in that set.

Current rumours for LEGO NINJAGO next year include multiple spinners, four transforming builds, a new Destiny's Bounty and much more.
