The newly revealed LEGO X-Files set includes nine minifigures, from iconic FBI agents to unforgettable monsters and villains.
Earlier this week, LEGO Ideas 21369 The X-Files was officially revealed, bringing the iconic 1990s sci-fi series to life after fan designer Brent Waller won the Build Your Nostalgia – 90s Throwback! challenge in early 2025.
Since then, both the set's design and minifigure line-up have evolved, while the reveal of 40896 The X-Files: Scully's Lab has increased the total number of minifigures to nine. Most of them include details that should appeal to diehard The X-Files fans.
Fox Mulder
The series' leading man features an exclusive detailed torso print depicting his classic FBI suit and tie. He uses a relatively common hairpiece and face print, with no leg printing, but does include his trademark sunflower seeds as a hand accessory.
Dana Scully
Scully comes with a brand-new dark orange bob hairpiece that closely matches Gillian Anderson's iconic 1990s hairstyle. She also features a detailed FBI torso print, although she again misses out on leg printing. Her dual-sided face captures both a shocked expression and her signature deadpan scepticism.
Walter Skinner
The stern Assistant Director who oversees Mulder and Scully uses a brand-new head print to capture his serious expression and glasses. He also features a variation of the FBI torso with an exposed tie and belt, although, like every other character in the set, he lacks leg printing.
Mr. X
Mulder's mysterious Syndicate informant wasn't included in Brent Waller's original submission but joins the final line-up. He wears a grey suit and tie and appears to feature a new face print complete with a greying goatee.
Alex Krycek
Another addition absent from the original fan design, Alex Krycek sports a black leather jacket over a T-shirt. His face print is only subtly different from one that has appeared on numerous previous LEGO minifigures.
Carl Busch
Better known throughout the series as the Cigarette Smoking Man, the LEGO Group has opted to use one of the character's aliases instead. He features an uncommon dark grey version of an existing hairpiece and an ageing double-sided face print, along with a smart suit torso. Unsurprisingly, his signature cigarette is absent.
Flukeman
The final newcomer compared with the original submission, Flukeman is one of the series' most memorable ‘Monster of the Week’ villains, first appearing in Season 2. The mutant sewer creature features a highly detailed, unsettling face print and a torso that captures his wrinkled body. His legs, however, are plain and unprinted.
Grey Alien
Standing beneath the UFO's tractor beam, the Grey Alien isn't the first extraterrestrial minifigure LEGO has produced. However, this version includes a completely unique head mould, an exclusive torso print and short, articulated legs. It's arguably the standout minifigure in the set.
Lab Coat Dana Scully
Available exclusively in the gift-with-purchase, which runs from August 1 to August 10, Lab Coat Dana Scully features a brand-new torso print depicting her white lab coat over medical scrubs, complete with protective gloves. She uses plain blue legs and the same dark orange bob hairpiece. While one side of her face retains Scully's shocked expression, the reverse shows her wearing laboratory goggles.

21369 The X-Files launches for LEGO Insiders on August 1, ahead of its wider release on August 4, for £179.99 / $199.99 / €199.99. 40896 The X-Files: Scully's Lab is free with purchases of its companion set through August 10, or while stocks last.
