Sold-out LEGO Star Wars UCS set back in stock in the US

LEGO Star Wars 75309 Republic Gunship is back in stock at the official online store in the US – despite being marked as ‘sold out’ following its recent 30% discount.

The timeline of most LEGO sets is as follows: coming soon or available to pre-order; available now; temporarily out of stock; available now (perhaps with a discount); sold out. When it hits that final step of the journey, chances are it isn’t coming back. But 75309 Republic Gunship has now proven the rare exception to that rule in the US, where it’s currently available on back order.

That’s despite the Ultimate Collector Series set earning the usually-definitive ‘sold out’ label at LEGO.com after collectors snapped up the ship with a 30% discount last weekend. It’s back to full price now – $399.99 for 3,292 pieces – but if you missed out on the sale, you may want to take the opportunity to bag it before it really is gone for good. The 2021 set is due to retire by the end of this year, so time is of the essence.

If you order today, you’ll guarantee a shipping date of November 4 at the latest, so you’ll still get it in time for Xmas. (Whether as a gift for yourself or someone else. Probably yourself. Treat yo’ self.) And it may well ship earlier – it’s been known to happen on back-ordered sets – so you could even get it in time for Halloween. Which is relevant because… erm… it’s a spookily good set?

Either way, this is a rare opportunity to earn LEGO Insiders points (previously VIP points) on a set that was initially thought to be sold out permanently. Those chances don’t come around too often.
