Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake experiences trailer troubles
The disappearance of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake’s trailers has raised questions, but thankfully an explanation has arrived.
The removal of various trailers for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake from the internet has caused some to question whether the game is still in development, or if it has been cancelled. First announced in 2021, the remake is based on the 2023 game of the same name but has since been reported to be delayed indefinitely and even changed developer.
For now, the removal of the trailers isn’t a surefire sign that it has been cancelled completely, despite the many reported troubles.
“As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire,” a Sony spokesperson explained in a statement provided to Kotaku.
The music used in the trailer all appears to be owned by Disney, so it may be that the license for it has not been renewed.
With no release date at the time of writing, it might be wise to not count on the remake launching anytime soon. For now, there’s the Star Wars Outlaws game and a third entry in the Star Wars Jedi series to look forward to.
