First Super Mario Movie teaser trailer coming soon

After a year since its initial cast announcement, it has been revealed that the teaser trailer for the Super Mario Movie is coming next month.

Due to release on April 7, 2023, time is running out for us to see a trailer, or anything, for the Super Mario Movie being made by Illumination. However, there isn’t long left to wait as the New York Comic Con social media accounts have announced that the event will be debuting the trailer on October 6 at 4pm ET – that’s around 9pm in the UK.

While this was revealed by the New York Comic Con social media team, it seems likely that it will be released online at the same time, or at least shortly after its debut at the event.

The Super Mario movie will feature Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anna Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike and Charles Martinet in select cameos. This was announced in September 2021 in a Nintendo Direct.

The film was scheduled to release in December 2022, but it has been delayed to April 7, 2023. Though nothing has been officially confirmed or rumoured, the opportunity of a Super Mario Movie could lead to tie-in LEGO sets or integration within the current theme. Current reports are that seven LEGO Super Mario models are coming in January 2023. These should be taken with caution though.

Either way, the Mario brothers’ debut on the silver screen, at least in animated form, is coming soon and you can look forward to the teaser trailer on October 6.
