The future of LEGO Marvel is in the MCU’s hands
Everyone from Namor to the X-Men is confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, putting the future of LEGO Marvel squarely in the MCU’s hands.
LEGO Marvel’s current slate has been missing a few major movies lately. Some are more easily explained due to their level of violence – Deadpool & Wolverine – but currently, Thunderbolts seems to be missing from LEGO Marvel’s 2025 slate.

The movie is being released on May 2, 2025, and time is running out for the LEGO Group to launch anything to coincide with the film. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is also currently rumoured to only have a single set in June. Taking all LEGO rumours with caution, the current slate of LEGO Marvel’s movie models is focusing more on the Infinity Saga and past films rather than new releases.
The final battle of Avengers: Endgame is particularly popular with the LEGO Marvel team, resulting in four models since the release of the movie, including the upcoming 76323 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle. The difference with this particular battle is the variety of popular heroes and characters it involves facing off against a singular enemy.

In comes Avengers: Doomsday, with the recent round of casting confirming the likes of Namor, Cyclops, Beast, Invisible Woman, Shang-Chi and much more for the massive May 1, 2026, Marvel movie. Doctor Doom is confirmed to be the main antagonist, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Whether this is the full casting for Avengers: Doomsday or not, it’s still a huge selection of famous faces and iconic characters for one film, the likes of which we haven’t seen since Infinity War and the ensuing Endgame. Note that Secret Wars is set to be the equivalent of Endgame for Doomsday when it releases in 2027.
This leaves the LEGO Group with an awesome opportunity – to leverage their longstanding partnership with Marvel and the MCU, to take advantage of this colossal cast of characters in some of the most varied and influential LEGO Marvel sets to date, after multiple skipped movies in the theme. Considering how fruitful the final battle of Endgame has been for LEGO Marvel models, too, there’s a clear and present chance for LEGO Marvel with Avengers: Doomsday.
Something as varied as Avengers: Infinity War’s first wave would fit such a varied cast of characters. While we know nothing of Avengers: Doomsday beyond the casting, such a mixed assortment of heroes almost certainly means a wide range of locations and vehicles, especially when we’ll be dealing with the multiverse.

The LEGO Marvel team certainly can use the potential of massive Marvel movies to make varied waves of sets (or even the same battle four times) after their experience with Infinity War and Endgame, and we can only hope that something similar is planned for Avengers: Doomsday this time next year.
Of all the films that LEGO Marvel can’t afford to skip or handle with a single set, Avengers: Doomsday is one not to undervalue, thanks to a cast with the X-Men, the Avengers, The Fantastic Four and more. Note that nothing for LEGO Marvel in 2026 is currently confirmed, and we can only hope that Doomsday will be part of the theme next year.
