The LEGO Group confirms that FORMA sets will be produced

To allay the fears of concerned fans, the latest LEGO FORMA update confirms that the products will go into production.

In the latest LEGO FORMA update that fish fans have received today, the team behind the project confirms that the product will be going into production and supporters will receive what they have ordered. Unlike other LEGO releases, these sets were made available only through Indiegogo as a way of gauging the level of interest in these new sets.

Here is the statement:

One of your key concerns seems to be that LEGO FORMA will never go into production and worry that you will not receive your order. We want to reassure you that production is happening and everyone who has placed an order for LEGO FORMA products will receive them in January 2019 as scheduled.

The statement came in response to a survey that supporters of the LEGO FORMA theme were asked to complete. Typically, crowdfunding is used so that start-up firms can raise funds for new products, which explains why supporters may have been confused about the set up. In this case, the LEGO Group has funded the project and is simply using the Indiegogo platform to reach a broader audience beyond already engaged LEGO fans.

The products will be delivered between January and March 2019 to those who have supported the campaign.
