The Star Wars Show interviews LEGO Creative Design Lead

With the new LEGO Star Wars sets for April unveiled, The Star Wars Show caught up with LEGO Creative Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen.

At New York Toy Fair, the full wave of LEGO Star Wars sets that will be released on April 1 was unveiled. To follow up on the announcement, LEGO Creative Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen visited The Star Wars Show to talk about 20 years working of the beloved theme.

“It has been a great experience working with this for so many years. It started out with the launch of Episode I. What I think has been interesting is that there has always been something new happening, we have been able to make models related to the new content coming out.”

During the interview, he reveals a key personal insight: “One of my own highlights was the first Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon … we never at LEGO had made a product that big, so logistically it was a nightmare.”

“We added these special anniversary minifigures,” says the design expert, referring to the new 20th anniversary edition sets. “They are exact copies of the first version of these iconic characters.”
