There’s something missing from LEGO this October

There’s something missing from the LEGO portfolio this month as chances are slim for a new seasonal set, breaking tradition.

Now that it’s October and officially the season of spooks, it seems unlikely that there will be a new Halloween LEGO Seasonal set for 2023. This breaks the traditions of an annual LEGO Seasonal Halloween set that has been taking place for the past four years.

Looking at the LEGO Seasonal line-up for 2023, it hasn’t been too similar to the norm in any case, so this may have been expected. Usually, such builds would release on August 1, but October 1 is just as appropriate a time for a new LEGO Halloween set too.

However, those looking to get their fill of brick-built scares can at least appreciate 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage and the current 40608 Halloween Fun VIP Add-On Pack GWP as new-for-2023 sets

As well as these, 2022’s 40570 Halloween Cat & Mouse is still available ahead of its retirement at the end of 2023 for a seasonally appropriate diorama.

After the Halloween season passes, Christmas is likely to be the next major event and the Seasonal sets for it are already available – 40640 Nutcracker and 40642 Gingerbread Ornaments.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
