This isn’t the first LEGO Disney WALL•E set

The upcoming range of LEGO Disney BrickHeadz includes a familiar robot, but this isn’t the first LEGO WALL•E set thanks to an old Ideas model.

On March 1, 2023, a trio of new LEGO BrickHeadz sets will launch including 40619 EVE & WALL•E40620 Cruella & Maleficent and 40621 Moana & Merida. Most of these characters have been represented in LEGO before either through a mini-doll or a physical model. Those familiar with LEGO Ideas will know that this includes one-half of 40619 EVE & WALL•E.

While EVE is brand new to the world of LEGO, eight years ago in 2015 WALL•E received a sizable LEGO Ideas set based on a project by fan designer and animator Angus McLane who worked on the film and even used LEGO to inspire the vehicles in the recent Lightyear movie.

The 2023 BrickHeadz isn’t quite as big as 21303 WALL-E but the character works well in the peculiar proportions and style of the LEGO caricatures.

Since the release of the LEGO Ideas set, a second official depiction of WALL•E has been featured in the LEGO The Incredibles video game, opting for a minifigure-scale version of the robot for players to control, as showcased by packattack04082.

Nearly 15 years after the release of the animated movie, 40619 EVE & WALL•E is launching on March 1, 2023, for £13.49 / $14.99 / €14.99 and includes the first official build for EVE too.
