This LEGO Technic set has a hidden feature

A new LEGO Technic summer set has been revealed to have a bonus hidden feature utilising AR technology, at no additional cost to the model.

42129 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trial Truck has now landed in the hands of some LEGO YouTubers early, and one has explored the interactive features of the model through the CONTROL+ app. RacingBrick revealed that the new Technic build has a hidden AR function that might help in planning where to display the beast of the build.

When using the CONTROL+ app to operate the model, selecting the options on the top left of the display will show a selection of strange icons. While some of these may seem obvious, the lower left-hand corner’s symbol allows users to place an AR version of 42129 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trial Truck anywhere in their surroundings to get hands-on with the digital version.

Since the CONTROL+ app is free to anyone, you could use this feature to explore every detail of the set and decide whether or not it belongs in your official online store haul.

At the time of writing, the application has not been updated to include 42129 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trial Truck, but we’ll let you know when it does as the release date is quickly approaching.

42129 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trial Truck is due to launch on the official online LEGO store on August 1 for £274.99 / $299.99 / €299.99 with 2,110 pieces and some motorised elements all included.
