Time’s up for the LEGO Ideas Spider-Man contest

We hope you got your entry for the LEGO Ideas Marvel contest in, as the competition to win a copy of 76178 Daily Bugle and more has ended its submission period.

LEGO Marvel 76178 Daily Bugle is the biggest set for the theme to date, so there are undoubtedly more than a few builders wanting to get their hands on the 25 minifigures and 3,770 bricks within. One chance to grab the model is now over as a LEGO Ideas contest has stopped accepting entries.

For those unfamiliar with the competition, entrants were asked to provide a brick-built or otherwise artistic cover for an original Spider-Man comic, perhaps one that could be sold in 76178 Daily Bugle’s newsstand.

More than 350 entries are now bidding for the huge prize packages with one for each category of the contest. Included within is a copy of the massive Marvel model, 76187 Venom76199 Carnage and a detailed Spider-Man Premium Format Figure by Sideshow – not to mention the relevant bragging rights.

A panel of LEGO Ideas judges now have the difficult task of sorting through the entries to find the best brick-built and drawn submission. Determiners for the winners are split equally between overall coolness and originality, most inspired details, relevance to contest theme, and the best use of LEGO elements.

If you didn’t manage to finish up your build or artwork in time, then you can still get 76178 Daily Bugle and the other sets in the prize package from the official online LEGO store. We’ll keep you updated when the winners for this Ideas contest are announced but in the meantime, why not read up on a hidden secret in the 76178 Daily Bugle designer video.
