Turn any image into a LEGO Art mosaic model with online tool

A clever online tool can turn any image into a LEGO Art mosaic, with options to remix several existing sets too. 

We’ve already reported on Instagram user KCZD’s efforts to recreate more pop-culture icons and celebrities using LEGO Art sets, but their manual and impressive approach means they can only cover so much media. 

Thankfully, for characters, people or other images not covered in their alternate models, the LEGO Art Remix website by Deb Banerji serves a similar purpose. The tool works by defining what selection of tiles you want to use. These include only tiles in set creations featuring every official LEGO Art mosaic set, tiles in select DOTS sets or every tile or stud colour available. 

After that, input any image downloaded on your device and you’ll see how your chosen design might look as a LEGO mosaic. You can generate PDF instructions via the tool too, but note that this is not affiliated in any way with the LEGO Group and is as unofficial as other alternate builds. The below example is using the selection of tiles available in 31203 World Map.

The generated nature of this tool means that it can’t remix non-mosaic LEGO Art models including 31206 The Rolling Stones and 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave. It also means that images may not be perfect, but you can always adjust the designs as you build with extra tiles or those from your own collection. 

Either way, this is an impressive alternative for media not covered in LEGO Art officially or unofficially and could act as a good starting point for that perfect LEGO wall art design you’ve had in mind. 

The most recent model to be added to the tool is 31207 Floral Art as well as the recent series of Extra DOTS, meaning the tool is being updated when new mosaics and tile selections are released, at least at the time of writing.
