Upcoming LEGO Star Wars set is available to pre-order – in one region only

Some lucky LEGO Star Wars fans will get the pick of the crop, with the ability to pre-order one of two upcoming sets due for release next month.

Two LEGO Star Wars sets have been officially revealed to be released on May 1: 75378 BARC Speeder Escape and 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator. However, only one of them is available to pre-order and in the United States alone. 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator can now be pre-ordered to be shipped on May 1 for $69.99.

However, 75378 BARC Speeder Escape is not available to pre-order and neither set has the pre-order option via LEGO.com in the UK, Europe, or seemingly any other region outside of the United States. This is relatively unusual for LEGO Star Wars but isn’t the only break from tradition for the theme this year, with recent rumours that the US will have a staggered release date for the LEGO Star Wars summer wave, with some sets potentially releasing in August, rather than June.

Even if pre-orders are open to you now, it might be wise to wait to buy 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator until May 1 anyway, to make the most of any LEGO Star Wars GWPs that could be released to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4. The LEGO Group can usually be relied upon to provide some tempting freebies at this time of year, so holding back on your purchase of 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator to go towards a minimum spend could be wise.

In any case, 75378 BARC Speeder Escape and 75383 Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator will both be available to buy on May 1 worldwide, retailing at £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 and £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 respectively.
