Upgrade LEGO Art 21226 Art Project with this neat addition

Add some personality to LEGO Art 21226 Art Project with this neat idea from a LEGO Reddit user.

You can already customise 21226 with any of the 37 mosaic possibilities included in the set, but Reddit user RabidFlea__ has come up with another way to make the build your own. By creating a lightweight platform to hang from the top right, they could add two minifigure painters, as if they had just finished painting the completed mosaic.

The attention to detail here is what makes it, with two tiny astronauts proudly polishing off the larger image of an astronaut. Even the round brick used to look like paint roller is the same colour as the studs that it’s ‘painting’.

“This was absolutely the most tedious set I’ve ever built but I am definitely glad I did,” added the Reddit user in the caption. “I added a small painting crew!”

You could easily customise your own painting crew to match your own build more closely, adding football players to paint the football design or Jurassic Park minifigures for the dinosaur-themed design. Whatever you choose, it’s one way to bring 21226 Art Project to life, rather than leaving it as a simple display piece.

If you are keen to try your hand at customising 21226 and don’t have your hands on it yet, now might be the time to buy. The LEGO Group has confirmed that it will be retiring soon, meaning we can expect it to disappear by the end of the year.
