How to upgrade your LEGO Spider-Verse Spot minifigure with Bluey
This summer’s new range of LEGO Bluey sets includes the perfect upgrade for January’s Spider-Verse Spot minifigure – if you can stomach a little bit of limb surgery.
The LEGO Group generally advises that minifigure arms shouldn’t be removed from torsos, which is why they come as a complete assembly in LEGO sets. But for those who are brave enough, they absolutely can be removed – and that paves the way for some very cool minifigure upgrades. The latest of those is a way to give 76311 Miles Morales vs. the Spot’s villain minifigure printed arms.
Spot already has printed legs, but for the full effect of the character we see on-screen he really needs printed arms, too (a benefit afforded to precious few LEGO Marvel minifigures). Hello then to 11201 Playground Fun with Bluey and Chloe, one of three new 4+ LEGO Bluey sets that’s just arrived on shelves, and includes the perfect pieces with which to upgrade Spot, as shown here by just2good.
Chloe the dalmatian’s printed arms are an ideal match for Spot, so as long as you’re happy to prise them off the Bluey minifigure and pop them on her Marvel counterpart, this is a relatively simple upgrade. And it’s one that goes a long way to giving Spot the level of detail you’d expect of a Collectible Minifigure, and which you’d rarely otherwise see in the LEGO Super Heroes theme.
Best of all, Chloe is available in a pretty affordable Bluey set: 11201 Playground Fun with Bluey and Chloe costs just £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99. And even if you don’t want to pay that much for a set of printed arms (let’s assume you’re not doing anything else with the rest of the set), its low price means Chloe should hopefully be pretty cheap on the aftermarket.
Until everyone gets wind of this upgrade, anyway. Then she might be a bit more expensive. Whoops.
