What does the first LEGO Minecraft Advent calendar add?
There’s a new kind of LEGO Advent calendar for 2025 as Minecraft joins the line-up, bringing compatibility and some fair value to the table.
There are six LEGO Advent calendars to look forward to later this year, all launching in September. As well as the continuing range of City, Friend, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Disney, Minecraft will be joining the collection this year as well.
It’s the first time that the long-running theme has had an advent calendar, and joining such an extensive range means it needs to have something unique or of value to stand out from the crowd. Thankfully, it has something up its sleeve.

This article will discuss the contents of each 2025 Advent calendar in terms of their statistics, but will not mention precisely what the models and minifigures are to keep some surprise ahead of Christmas.
2025 LEGO Advent calendars
| Theme | Pieces | Minifigures | Exclusive prints | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minecraft | 300 | 7 | 4 | £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99 |
| City | 186 | 7 | 9 | €26.99 |
| Friends | 237 | Five mini-dolls | 6 | €26.99 |
| Star Wars | 263 | 2 | 4 | £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99 |
| Harry Potter | 278 | 8 | 9 | £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99 |
| Disney | 231 | Four micro-dolls | 7 | £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99 |
21280 Advent Calendar has the most pieces of the 2025 Advent calendar selection and is in the top three positions in terms of minifigures as well. That’s not counting the buildable characters in the set, though we’re not counting those in the Harry Potter Advent calendar as well.
LEGO Minecraft’s first advent calendar has the least exclusive prints out of the 2025 range, but in fairness rarely uses printed pieces beyond its minifigures anyway.
Compared to the wider array of LEGO Advent calendars, 21280 Advent Calendar is starting strong in terms of piece count but is decidedly average when it comes to the number of minifigures.
LEGO Advent calendar average statistics
| Theme | Average number of pieces | Average number of minifigures |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft (one set) | 300 | 7 |
| City (21 sets) | 254 | 8 |
| Friends (14 sets) | 272 | Three mini-dolls |
| Star Wars (15 sets) | 289 | 8 |
| Harry Potter (seven sets) | 293 | 7 |
| Disney (two sets) | 242 | Four micro-dolls |
From this point onwards, we’ll be discussing the contents of the new LEGO Minecraft Advent calendar. 21280 Advent Calendar has something else that makes it stand out. It’s not just minifigure-scale models in the seasonal set.
LEGO Advent calendars commonly feature microscale builds to depict iconic vehicles, locations and creatures. LEGO Minecraft is introducing a twist to this format by including four miniature chunks on three-by-three stud plates that can be combined into a snowy biome.
That will make them fit perfectly on 21265 The Crafting Table, allowing you to decorate the only 18+ LEGO Minecraft set for Christmas or represent more snowy areas in your model.

It’s a nice touch for the first LEGO Minecraft Advent calendar, and having an immediate use for the microscale models in Advent calendars is appreciated. Enthusiasts online have been tasked with finding creative uses for these models in years past, but the LEGO designers are saving Minecraft fans the job this year.
The first LEGO Minecraft Advent calendar launches on September 1 for £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99 alongside the other five 2025 Advent calendars.
