What would a second LEGO Horizon set look like?
Evidence is stacking up for a second LEGO Horizon set after 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck and there are a few paths for such a model.
A lengthy new LEGO Horizon Adventures behind-the-scenes video features a tease for what may be a second LEGO Horizon set, based on the surprise appearance of a new Aloy face print, arm print and a fresh bow element. Note that this may just be a special reward made for the teams that worked on the title, but bringing back Aloy’s unique hair element and designing new prints and another unique piece for her bow seems unlikely.
Given the evident success of 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck and the brand-new LEGO Horizon Adventures game launching later this week, it seems plausible that a second set is in our future, and there are a few different paths such a model might take.
The original blueprint

A likely route for a second LEGO Horizon set to take is to follow that of 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, depicting a slice of the apocalyptic world with machine figures on a black diorama base.
The video features new Sawtooth and Shell-Walker builds, adding to the Tallneck and Watcher depicted in the 2022 set. A wider circular base would be able to accommodate a space for both machine figures with Aloy and possibly another minifigure battling them in the middle.
It would be a safe bet for a second LEGO Horizon set to pair with the first. Given the happy expression Aloy has in her new minifigure though, the minifigure may be based specifically on LEGO Horizon Adventures which would in turn suit a different kind of model just as well.
A more creative experience

LEGO DREAMZzz has a decent blueprint that better caters to the whimsical, building-infused gameplay of the LEGO Horizon Adventures spin-off title via 71483 The Never Witch’s Nightmare Creatures. This model features a mix of elements that can be rebuilt into one of three figures with some rare minifigures and elements mixed in.
Given the Sawtooth and Shell-Walker models visible in the video, a model that would provide instructions to build other machines using the same elements would provide the LEGO Group with an opportunity to fill in the roster of Horizon machines recreated with LEGO pieces quicker, though it would be a much different take on the series than in the first set.
The spin-off set design

Alternatively, LEGO Minecraft has another option through various spin-off sets, most recently including 21257 The Devourer Showdown. The LEGO Minecraft 2024 model is the second to be inspired by a Minecraft spin-off title and is one of the few LEGO Minecraft builds to not feature any landscape. Instead, it focuses entirely on minifigures, exclusive elements and brick-built figures. LEGO Horizon Adventures is, by comparison, a spin-off of the main Horizon series.
That matches what we can see at the end of the video well. Everything seemingly teased in the short clips could be part of a similar model to 21257 The Devourer Showdown including two figures, at least one new element and two larger figures in a standalone experience. It would also be disconnected from 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck so that newer LEGO enthusiasts don’t feel left out without being able to collect the 2022 model.
